Personnel Psychology for Project Management. — Chapter Contribution from Anastasia Byler, in “Applied Psychology for Project Managers.”

I worked in conjunction with my German colleagues to publish this chapter on the psychology behind project management teams. This chapter goes into depth on why diverse teams of experts coming together for a project can often introduce differences in work style that causes delays in the project, offers recommendations to prevent such occurrences, and enhances team dynamics to achieve flourishing projects.

This book is an essential manual for project managers, project management offices (PMO’s), trainers and consultants, addressing the psychological side of project management. Written by leading scholars in organizational psychology and by top experts in project management, it covers all major psychological topics that are key to project success. The book features dedicated chapters on leadership and teamwork, including virtual and intercultural cooperation, commitment and motivation.
